O king of humankind and lion of the battalions,
O king of the land and lion of armies
And lion of al-Sharā, and rain of the clouds!
Destroyer of evil and rain of clouds

You were beneath the earth, and I kept rising
You were under the ground but I kept rising
Through you, until you were known among the processions.
With you until you were known among the processions

Then a slanderer denounced me in your presence,
So he accused me falsely in your noble presence
Seeking to bring me low so he might achieve his aims.
Seeking to lower me so he can attain his goals

And he claimed that I had embezzled; it is enough for me
And claimed that I had stolen, and it suffices me
That the arrow of his accusation is off the mark.
That the arrow of his claim is not right

Safe from the ravages of misfortune.
Safe from the calamities of adversities

In the courts of Saʿīd, lord of noble virtues.

As long as a sun appears in the sky of justice,
Since the sun of justice rose
And a full moon follows it, dispelling the darkness.
