بِولادٍ لذات حسن أَنيسهْ

O joy of the precious Thursday night,

هِيَ في خامس السويعات لاحَت

فَأَزالَت عَن كُل وَجه عبوسه

and removed the frown from every face.

وَهيَ شَمس بَدَت لِبَدرٍ مُنير

لَم يَزَل بِالسُرور يَلقَى جَليسه

She is a sun that appeared for a radiant full moon,

She is a radiant sun to the shining full moon

who has never ceased to greet his companion with joy.

Who has always found joy in her companion

وَبِها اِزدان صُبح رابع يَوم

مِن جَمادى وَلانَ بَعد اليبوسه

وَمَبادى هاتور مِنها تَباهَت

بِسُعود مَحَت رُسوم النحوسه

in good fortunes that erased the traces of ill luck.

With the blessing that erased the marks of misfortune

فَتهنأ يا يوسف الفَضل وَاعلم

فَتهنأ يا يوسف الفَضل وَاعلم

أَن بِنت الرَئيس أَيضاً رَئيسه

أَن بِنت الرَئيس أَيضاً رَئيسه

So rejoice, O Yusuf of bounty, and know

So congratulations Yusuf, you are virtuous, and know

that the chief's daughter is likewise a chief.

That the daughter of the president is also excellent

وَابق ما قالَ لي قبولك أَرخ

طَلعت النَديم شَمسٌ نَفيسه

طَلعت النَديم شَمسٌ نَفيسه

And live on, so long as your favor bids me, 'Record the date:'

And let what he told me of your acceptance remain etched

'A precious sun has risen for the boon companion.'
