To You, the savior of those crying for help, against evil

وَأَنجَيتَنيand You saved me دُونto the exclusion of السَفينthe ships وَأَهلهاand their people
وَأَنجَيتَني دُون السَفين وَأَهلها

وَأَوصَلتَني يا واصل البر بِالبَر
And You saved me, but not the ships and those aboard them,
You delivered me without the ship and its crew
And brought me to shore, O bestower of kindness.
And You connected me, O connector of land to land

عَجزتI have fallen short وَلَوand even if أَنيthat I سَجَدتI prostrated myself عَلىupon الجَمرthe glowing coals
عَجزت وَلَو أَني سَجَدت عَلى الجَمر
How, then, can I give thanks for Your kindness? Indeed, I
So how can I repay thanks for Your blessings? Indeed
Have fallen short, even were I to prostrate myself upon glowing coals.
Even if I prostrated on embers, I would fall short
