يَقوم حَنيناً واشتياقاً بذكركم

يَقوم حَنيناً واشتياقاً بذكركم

إِذا ما هَدا الناس الخليون بِالنَومِ

He rises in yearning and longing at the thought of you,

He arises, yearning and longing, remembering you all,

When carefree people have grown still in sleep.

When the quiet people fall asleep at night.

يجدُّ بكم شوقاً فَيَذري مَدامِعاً

يجدُّ بكم شوقاً فَيَذري مَدامِعاً

فَلا تَعذلوه فَهوَ لَم ينه بِاللَومِ

فَلا تَعذلوه فَهوَ لَم ينه بِاللَومِ

He yearns intensely for you and sheds tears;

He finds in you a passion, shedding copious tears -

So do not reproach him, for he has not been restrained by reproach.

So do not blame him, for he did not intend any fault.
