Good tidings! The ruler Sa'id has indeed gladdened
Good tidings! The noble Sa'id has granted
The heart of the schools—a praiseworthy act on his part.
The schools relief, and he is praiseworthy for it.

And on his arrival, during his inspection, he granted them
Upon his arrival to investigate,
Honor and pride to which nothing more could be added.
He conferred them honor and pride beyond measure.

They hope for; and the illustrious one attained what he desired.
They hoped for, and achieved the glorious deed.

May he remain delighted with Egypt, succeeding
In doing good, in whatever he begins and repeats,
In doing good however he begins and repeats.

As long as I say, rejoicing in this and recording its date:
I have not spoken this happily chronicling it,
The schools' inspection is blessed through the ruler.
Except the archives tell of the noble Sa'id.
