لَكَ السَعد أَضحى خادِماً في ولادة

لِشَمس معالٍ ذات حسن وَسيمةِ

لِشَمس معالٍ ذات حسن وَسيمةِ

Good fortune has become your servant at the birth

Good fortune serves at your birth

Of a sun of lofty virtues, endowed with beauty, fair to behold.

Of a noble sun, comely and fair,

وَمَجدي لَدى عَلياك قال مُؤرِّخاً

وَمَجدي لَدى عَلياك قال مُؤرِّخاً

عَليّ لَهُ البُشرى بِنجم بَسيمةِ

عَليّ لَهُ البُشرى بِنجم بَسيمةِ

And Majdi, in your exalted presence, declared in a chronogram:

My glory proclaimed by your heights, said the chronicler,

“Ali has glad tidings of Basima’s star.”

Ali, yours is the joyful star of a gentle breeze.
