1. بُشرى لَنا سادَ الملا بِسَعيدِ

    وَكَسا مَدارسَنا مَلابسَ عيدِ

    Glad tidings for us: the people have attained glory through Sa'id.

    And he has clothed our schools in festive garments.

  2. وَتشرّفت بركابه في بَحثِها

    فَسَمَت بِذكر في العَلاء حَميد

    And they were honored by his retinue during their examination,

    and so rose to the heights with praiseworthy renown.

  3. وَأَثابَها مِن فَضله فَوقَ الَّذي

    تَرجو فَبَثَّ ثَناه كُلُّ مجيد

    And he rewarded them from his bounty beyond what

    they hoped for; so every accomplished person proclaimed his praise.

  4. لا زالَ مَسروراً بِمصر ممتعاً

    في جَيشهِ بِالنَصر وَالتَأييد

    May he ever remain joyful in Egypt, endowed

    with victory and support in his army.

  5. يَحمي حُصون ثُغورها بِحَماسة

    تَعلو بِرأي في الجِهاد سَديد

    He guards its frontier fortresses with zeal

    that soars through sound judgment in warfare.

  6. وَيعم أَبناء المَعارف فَيضُه

    في كُل بَحث في العُلوم جَديد

    And his bounty encompasses the sons of learning

    in every new inquiry into the sciences.

  7. ما هامَت العليا بِذاك وَأَرّخَت

    بَحث المَكاتب بِالعَزيز سَعيد

    As long as lofty glory is enamored of him and records the date:

    “The schools' examination by the mighty Sa'id.”
