من حامد كَوكب الإقبال قَد لَمَعا

من حامد كَوكب الإقبال قَد لَمَعا

وَنُوره لِلوَرى في مَصر قَد سَطَعا

وَنُوره لِلوَرى في مَصر قَد سَطَعا

From Hamid, the star of good fortune has shone,

From one who praises the star of prosperity that shone

And his light has shone brightly for humankind in Egypt.

And its light illuminated the land in Egypt

وَازداد شَعبان تشريفاً بِمولده

وَازداد شَعبان تشريفاً بِمولده

في سادس بَعد عشر حسبما سَمِعا

في سادس بَعد عشر حسبما سَمِعا

And Sha‘ban gained greater honor through his birth,

Shaban gained more nobility through his birth

On the sixteenth, according to what he heard.

On the sixteenth as he had heard

وَجاءَ يَحكي نسيماً في شَمائله

وَجاءَ يَحكي نسيماً في شَمائله

وَفي الملاحة وَالأَخلاق قَد بَرَعا

وَفي الملاحة وَالأَخلاق قَد بَرَعا

And he came resembling a breeze in his disposition,

And a breeze describes his noble traits

And excelled in beauty and character.

And his integrity and morals he excelled

وَالمَجد لَما بَدا في السَعد أَرخه

وَالمَجد لَما بَدا في السَعد أَرخه

مَحمد خير بَدر ناجح طلعا

مَحمد خير بَدر ناجح طلعا

And when he appeared in good fortune, Glory recorded his date:

And glory ordained his time of fortune

“Muhammad, the finest full moon, has risen triumphant.”
