صفر الخير لاح لِلشَهم خَيري

بولادٍ لشمس حسنٍ زَكيهْ

بولادٍ لشمس حسنٍ زَكيهْ

Auspicious Safar dawned for noble Khayri,

My good fortune shone for the valorous

With the birth of a pure sun of beauty.

With the birth of a sun of beautiful virtue

وَلخمس مِنهُ وَعشرين أَضحَت

وَلخمس مِنهُ وَعشرين أَضحَت

مصر تَزهو بِذاتها اليوسفيهْ

مصر تَزهو بِذاتها اليوسفيهْ

And on its twenty-fifth day, morning found

And twenty five from him became

Egypt glorying in her Yusuf-like presence.

Egypt blooming with its Joseph-like essence

وَالمَعالي لَما بَدَت أَرّختها

وَالمَعالي لَما بَدَت أَرّختها

خلقت زَينَب لأمّ بَهيّهْ

خلقت زَينَب لأمّ بَهيّهْ

And when she appeared, lofty honors recorded her birth-date:

And when the splendors appeared I recorded them

Zaynab was born to a radiant mother.

Zainab was created for a radiant mother
