في مَولد الشَمس المُنيرة فاطِمَهْ

في مَولد الشَمس المُنيرة فاطِمَهْ

أَضحَت ثُغور بَدور مَصرٍ باسمهْ

أَضحَت ثُغور بَدور مَصرٍ باسمهْ

At the birth of the radiant sun, Fatimah,

With the birth of the radiant sun, Fatima

The lips of Egypt’s full moons began smiling.

The quarters of Egypt shone with her name

وَلِذاك مَجدي قال فيهِ مؤرخاً

وَلِذاك مَجدي قال فيهِ مؤرخاً

وَلدت لزينب مِن شكور فاطمَهْ

وَلدت لزينب مِن شكور فاطمَهْ

And so Majdi said of it, composing a chronogram:

Thus my glory, said the historian thereof

Fatimah was born to Zaynab by Shakur.

For Zaynab was born Fatima of gratitude
