فَما كانَ إِلّا ساعَةً ثُمَّ غودِروا

فَما كانَ إِلّا ساعَةً ثُمَّ غودِروا

كَمِثلِ حَصيدٍ فَوقَ ظَهرِ صَعيدِ

كَمِثلِ حَصيدٍ فَوقَ ظَهرِ صَعيدِ

And it was but an hour, then they were left behind,

It was but an hour when they were exterminated,

Like a reaped crop upon the face of the earth.

Like harvest upon the back of an arid plain.
