A fire burns in my conscience, blazing

يا من له شرف وفضل في الورى

يا من له شرف وفضل في الورى

أمسى وحيداً مفرداً دون الأهل

أمسى وحيداً مفرداً دون الأهل

O you who possess honor and merit among humankind,

O you who has honor and virtue in the world

you have become alone, solitary, apart from your family.

Alone and singled out without family

الله أكبر من مصاب عمنا

الله أكبر من مصاب عمنا

هماً وغماً لا يبيد ولا يفل

هماً وغماً لا يبيد ولا يفل

God is greater than the calamity that has engulfed us

God is greater than the affliction of our uncle

with sorrow and anguish that neither fade nor abate.

Worry and sorrow that does not vanish or cease

حمد حوى المجد الشريف تغيرت

حمد حوى المجد الشريف تغيرت

أيامه قد كان يضرب بالمثل

أيامه قد كان يضرب بالمثل

Hamad attained noble glory; changed are

Praise contained noble glory but his

his days—he once was held up as an example.

Days have changed, he was proverbial

صبراً لأولاد الإمام ومن لهم

صبراً لأولاد الإمام ومن لهم

من أخوة وأقارب فيما نزل

من أخوة وأقارب فيما نزل

Patience for the Imam's children, and for their

Patience for the Imam's sons and those

brothers and relatives, amid what has befallen them.

Who are their brethren and kin in what befell

لا غرو هذا قد أتى خير الورى

لا غرو هذا قد أتى خير الورى

لم تمنع الأموال عنه ولا الدول

لم تمنع الأموال عنه ولا الدول

No wonder—this has befallen the best of humankind;

No wonder this came to the best of men

neither wealth nor dominions kept it from him.

Wealth nor power did not stop it or prevent
