قالوا خَراسانُ أَخرَجَت رشَأً

قالوا خَراسانُ أَخرَجَت رشَأً

لَيسَ لَهُ في ملاحها ثاني

لَيسَ لَهُ في ملاحها ثاني

They said: Khurasan has brought forth a young gazelle,

They said Khorasan bore a flower

who has no equal among its fair ones.

With no equal in its gardens fair

فَقُلتُ لا تَنكروا محاسِنَهُ

فَقُلتُ لا تَنكروا محاسِنَهُ

فَمَطلَعُ الشَمسِ مِن خَراسانِ

فَمَطلَعُ الشَمسِ مِن خَراسانِ

So I said: Do not find his charms strange,

But I replied, do not deny its charm

for the sun rises from Khurasan.

For the sun rises o’er Khorasan
