أَقبَلَ الثَلجُ في غلائِلِ نَورٍ

أَقبَلَ الثَلجُ في غلائِلِ نَورٍ

تَتَهادى بِلُؤلُؤٍ مَنشودِ

تَتَهادى بِلُؤلُؤٍ مَنشودِ

The snow approached in gauzy robes of blossoms,

The snow came in strands of light

gliding gracefully with longed-for pearls.

Swaying with desired pearls

فَكَأَنَّ السَماءَ صاهَرت الأَر

فَكَأَنَّ السَماءَ صاهَرت الأَر

ضَ فَصارَ النَثارُ من كافورِ

ضَ فَصارَ النَثارُ من كافورِ

And it was as though the sky had wed the earth,

As if the sky had fused with the earth

so the wedding shower became camphor.

And the falling flakes were camphor
