لَو أَنَّهُ كانَ جُزءَ فِقهٍ

لَو أَنَّهُ كانَ جُزءَ فِقهٍ

لَما عَدا جامِعَ العُيوبِ

لَما عَدا جامِعَ العُيوبِ

If he were a volume of jurisprudence,

Had he been versed in wisdom's lore,

He would be no more than a compendium of flaws.

He would have shunned the faults he bore.
