Whoever's courtyard has not embraced guests,

his concealment lies in the grave's embrace.

And whoever persists in his avarice—people recoil

from his company with utter aversion.

And baseness detracts from its possessor's standing,

to the point that it nearly implies his unbelief.

And whoever's honor becomes al-Muhallab ('stripped bare') among the

people, his face becomes Abu Sufrah ('father of yellowness').
