قَد قَنَعنا مِنكُم بِرَدَّ الجَوابِ

قَد قَنَعنا مِنكُم بِرَدَّ الجَوابِ

دونَ إِسعافِنا بِما في الكِتابِ

دونَ إِسعافِنا بِما في الكِتابِ

We have settled for a reply from you,

We are satisfied with your response

without your granting us what is in the letter.

Without being helped by what is in the book

فَاِجعَلوهُ زَكاةَ مَقدِرَةِ الحُك

فَاِجعَلوهُ زَكاةَ مَقدِرَةِ الحُك

مِ عَلَينا أَو رادِعاً لِلعِتابِ

مِ عَلَينا أَو رادِعاً لِلعِتابِ

So make it the alms due on your power to rule

So make it a purification of the wisdom of ruling

over us, or a curb on reproach.

A favor upon us, or a deterrent to reproach
