تَحَمَّل مِن حَبيبِكَ كُلَّ ذَنبٍ

تَحَمَّل مِن حَبيبِكَ كُلَّ ذَنبٍ

وَعُدَّ خَطاهُ في وَفقِ الصَوابِ

وَعُدَّ خَطاهُ في وَفقِ الصَوابِ

Tolerate every fault of your beloved.

Bear with your beloved each fault

And deem his error to accord with what is right.

And count their missteps as right

وَلا تَعتُب عَلى ذَنبٍ حَبيباً

وَلا تَعتُب عَلى ذَنبٍ حَبيباً

فَكَم هَجراً تَوَلَّدَ مِن عِتابِ

فَكَم هَجراً تَوَلَّدَ مِن عِتابِ

And do not reproach a beloved for a fault.

Blame not a beloved for any fault

For many an estrangement has arisen from reproach.

For how much estrangement was born of reproach
