    So, by God, God would not have chosen Muhammad

    as His beloved had he an equal among all the worlds.

    Likewise, the Prophet would not have chosen for himself

    Ali as his successor—and he is his daughter's husband—

    nor made him, to the exclusion of all others, his brother

    and counterpart, had anyone among them been superior to him.

    فَما حالُ مَن يَختارُهُ اللَهُ وَالرُسلُ

    And the proof of a person's intellect is the soundness of his choice;

    then what of one whom God and the messengers choose?
