وَمُقيماً عَلى الوِدادِ القَديمِ
O you untouched by the sickness of my stricken heart,
O Solace for the sickness of my heart, unwavering

If you sleep carefree, then in your absence my heart
If you sleep away from me, after you my heart
Is daily in anguish that makes it sit and rise.

So when will time allow us to meet again,
You to a lover in the hell of separation,
Two lovers escaping the flames within hellfire?

And union say: 'O fire, be coolness
And say: “O fire, be coolness and safety,”
And peace for Ibrahim'?
As for Abraham, so let it be.

When for Him, a father slayed his son, a great offering.

If I could, I'd ransom your closeness
You with the black core of my soul and my very essence.
With my dark-skinned cheeks and innermost soul.
