شوقي إليكم والديار قريبة
إنif قلتI say زالit vanished معwith التقاربgrowing nearness زاداit grew
إن قلت زال مع التقارب زادا
My longing for you, though the dwellings are near—
Longing for you all and home is near
If I say it has vanished as we draw closer, it grows.
If I say it's gone as we've drawn close, it's increased
دنتdrew near الديارthe dwellings بكمwith you in them وعزand became difficult مزاركمvisiting you
دنت الديار بكم وعز مزاركم
حتىuntil توهمتI imagined الدنوnearness بعاداdistance
حتى توهمت الدنو بعادا
The dwellings where you are have drawn near, yet visiting you is difficult,
Home has come near with you all and visiting your shrine is dear
Until I imagined nearness to be distance.
To the point I imagined remoteness was proximity
