حَلَّتِbecame lawful المومِياءُmumia (medicinal mummy substance) وَهيَthough it is مِنَfrom المَيcarrion (first part)
حَلَّتِ المومِياءُ وَهيَ مِنَ المَي
تَةِcarrion (final part) بَعدَafter التَحريمِprohibition لِلنَفعِfor the benefit فيهاin it
تَةِ بَعدَ التَحريمِ لِلنَفعِ فيها
Mummia became lawful, though it comes from carrion,

آنُ قَد حُرِّمَت عَلى عارِفيها
And choice wine—whose benefit the Qur’an itself acknowledged—

يَلبَسُdons الجَهلَignorance مَنwhoever قَصَدَsought السُكintoxication (first part)
يَلبَسُ الجَهلَ مَن قَصَدَ السُك
رَintoxication (final part) فَيُمسيso becomes بِهاthrough it الحَليمُthe judicious man سَفيهاa fool
رَ فَيُمسي بِها الحَليمُ سَفيها
Whoever seeks intoxication clothes himself in ignorance,
He dons ignorance who seeks intoxica-
and through it even the wise man ends a fool.
