لَئِن لَم أَبَرقِع بِالحَيا وَجهَ عِفَّتي

لَئِن لَم أَبَرقِع بِالحَيا وَجهَ عِفَّتي

فَلا أَشبَهَتهُ راحَتي في التَكَرُّمِ

فَلا أَشبَهَتهُ راحَتي في التَكَرُّمِ

If I do not veil the face of my chastity with modesty,

then may my palm never resemble the rain in generosity.

وَلا كُنتُ مِمَّن يَكسُرُ الجَفنَ في الوَغى

وَلا كُنتُ مِمَّن يَكسُرُ الجَفنَ في الوَغى

إِذا أَنا لَم أَغضُضهُ عَن رَأيِ مَحرَمِ

إِذا أَنا لَم أَغضُضهُ عَن رَأيِ مَحرَمِ

Nor may I be among those who break the scabbard in battle,

if I do not lower my eyelid to avoid seeing what is forbidden.
