I shall praise your bounty as long as I remain alive.
I shall praise your bounty as long as I remain alive;
And if I die, the voice of the page will praise you after me.
And if I die, the page’s voice will offer praise after me.
فَقَدfor indeed أَودَعَتhave entrusted صَدرَthe bosom of الطُروسِthe pages بَدائِعيmy wondrous verses
فَقَد أَودَعَت صَدرَ الطُروسِ بَدائِعي
لِمَجدِكَfor your glory ماthat which يَقضيdecrees لِذِكرِكَfor your remembrance بِالخُلدِwith immortality
لِمَجدِكَ ما يَقضي لِذِكرِكَ بِالخُلدِ
For I have lodged my exquisite creations in the breast of pages,
For my wondrous verses have entrusted the bosom of the pages
for your glory—works that decree immortality for your memory.
With that which, for your glory, decrees immortality for your remembrance.
