نَصَحتُكَ فَاِصغِ إِلى مَنطِقي

نَصَحتُكَ فَاِصغِ إِلى مَنطِقي

يَقُدكَ إِلا السَنَنِ الأَرشَدِ

يَقُدكَ إِلا السَنَنِ الأَرشَدِ

I have counseled you, so listen to my words;

My advice, so listen to my logic

they will lead you to the soundest path.

It will lead you to the most righteous path

وَلا تَستَقِلَّنَّ رَأيَ اِمرِىءٍ

وَلا تَستَقِلَّنَّ رَأيَ اِمرِىءٍ

وَإِن كانَ دونَكَ في المَحتِدِ

وَإِن كانَ دونَكَ في المَحتِدِ

And never belittle a person's opinion,

And do not underestimate the opinion of another

even if he is beneath you in lineage.

Even if he is of lower status than you

فَإِنَّ سُلَيمانَ في مُلكِهِ

فَإِنَّ سُلَيمانَ في مُلكِهِ

وَكُلٌّ بِآرائِهِ يَهتَدي

وَكُلٌّ بِآرائِهِ يَهتَدي

For Solomon, in his kingdom—

For Solomon in his kingdom

and all were guided by his counsel—

Everyone is guided by their own views

أَطاعَتهُ كُلُّ ذَواتِ الجَناحِ

أَطاعَتهُ كُلُّ ذَواتِ الجَناحِ

وَأَصغى إِلى نَبَأِ الهُدهُدِ

وَأَصغى إِلى نَبَأِ الهُدهُدِ

was obeyed by every winged creature,

All winged creatures obeyed him

and he listened to the hoopoe's report.

And he listened to the tale of the hoopoe
