أُجِلَّكَ أَن تُواجَهَ بِالقَليلِ

أُجِلَّكَ أَن تُواجَهَ بِالقَليلِ

وَلَم أَقدِر عَلى القَدرِ الجَزيلِ

وَلَم أَقدِر عَلى القَدرِ الجَزيلِ

I esteem you too highly to be offered little,

I put off confronting you with little

And I could not manage a generous amount.

And I couldn't handle the abundant fate

فَأَترُكُ خيرَةً هَذا وَهَذا

فَأَترُكُ خيرَةً هَذا وَهَذا

وَأَطمَعُ مِنكَ بِالعُذرِ الجَميلِ

وَأَطمَعُ مِنكَ بِالعُذرِ الجَميلِ

So, by choice, I forgo this and that,

So I leave the choice between this and that

And hope for gracious pardon from you.

And expect from you a beautiful excuse
