بِاللَهِ لا تَقطَعوا عَنّا رَسائِلَكُم

بِاللَهِ لا تَقطَعوا عَنّا رَسائِلَكُم

فَإِنَّ فيها شِفاءَ القَلبِ وَالبَصَرِ

فَإِنَّ فيها شِفاءَ القَلبِ وَالبَصَرِ

By God, do not cut off your letters from us,

For God's sake, do not withhold your letters from us,

For in them lie healing for the heart and the eyes.

for in them lies healing for the heart and sight.

وَآنَسونا بِها إِن عَزَّ قُربُكُمُ

وَآنَسونا بِها إِن عَزَّ قُربُكُمُ

فَالأُنسُ بِالسَمعِ مِثلُ الأُنسِ بِالنَظَرِ

فَالأُنسُ بِالسَمعِ مِثلُ الأُنسِ بِالنَظَرِ

And let them comfort us, if your nearness is hard to attain—

And comfort us with them if nearness to you is hard to attain,

For the solace of hearing is like the solace of seeing.

for comfort through hearing is like comfort through sight.
