And I have a friend—people recite, “We belong to God, and to Him we return,” whenever

I mention his qualities and traits to them.

Indeed, his house clothed me in bodily health

through extreme abstinence when I lodged in his homes.

His wisdom taught me nothing except that I

keep hunger waiting until I put it to death.
