And a singer who scatters joy’s gathering,

Who kills happiness and brings sorrows to life,

With a face that destroys whenever it appears,

And a hand that harms whenever he strikes.

He sang, and because of him every heart became

Scant in fortune, abundant in weariness.

He sang, and tormented his companions’ hearts,

And he swayed, and ruin touched the hearts.
