لَكَ الوُدُّ الَّذي لا رَيبَ فيهِ

لَكَ الوُدُّ الَّذي لا رَيبَ فيهِ

وَإِن بَقِيَت نَواكَ عَلى التَمادي

وَإِن بَقِيَت نَواكَ عَلى التَمادي

Yours is affection beyond all doubt,

You have an affection beyond any doubt

Even if your separation lasts on and on.

And though your affliction persists endlessly

إِذا كَرُمَت عُهودُ المَرءِ طَبعاً

إِذا كَرُمَت عُهودُ المَرءِ طَبعاً

فَأَكرَمُ ما يَكونُ عَلى البعادِ

فَأَكرَمُ ما يَكونُ عَلى البعادِ

When a man's pledges are noble by nature,

When one’s promises are generous by nature

Then he is at his noblest when far away.

Most generous is he from afar
