وَقَدand once أَرَانِيI saw myself لَيِّناًsupple مُبَطَّنَاslender-bellied
وَقَد أَرَانِي لَيِّناً مُبَطَّنَا
سَفانِقاًsoft and delicate يَحْسَبْنَهُthey (the women) thought him مُوَدَّناpampered
سَفانِقاً يَحْسَبْنَهُ مُوَدَّنا
And once I saw myself supple and slender-bellied,
soft and delicate, whom they thought pampered.
