O forsaker, who stole my reason

And brought ruin upon my throbbing heart.

You have prolonged our separation and worn my body down.

So when shall we meet, and where will our meeting be?

O my beloved, you have prolonged my torment,

So my heart melts in the inner corners of my eyes.

Draw near to me—may my soul be your ransom—and do not hold back,

For my heart overflows with longing.

O my beloved, come, kiss my forehead.

Love is not sweet without an embrace.

And by my life, I seek nothing from you but

Kisses from your dusky lips and eyes.
