وفي أثوابه أسد هصور

You see the slender man and scorn him,

You see a slender man, so you spurn him,

Yet within his garments is a fierce lion.

Yet beneath his garb dwells a painted lion.

فما عظم الرجال لهم بفخر

فما عظم الرجال لهم بفخر

ولكن فخرهم كرمٌ وخير

ولكن فخرهم كرمٌ وخير

For men's size gives them no cause for pride,

A man's worth lies not in physique and height.

But their pride lies in generosity and goodness.

Rather, his merit rests in nobility and goodness.
