فَقالوا أَينَ مَسكَنُها وَمَن هِيَ

فَقالوا أَينَ مَسكَنُها وَمَن هِيَ

فَقُلتُ الشَمسُ مَسكَنُها السَماءُ

فَقُلتُ الشَمسُ مَسكَنُها السَماءُ

Then they said, "Where is her dwelling, and who is she?"

They asked, where is her dwelling and who is she?

Then I said, "She is the sun; her dwelling is the sky."

I said, the sun is her dwelling, the sky her abode.

فَقالوا مَن رَأَيتَ أَحَبَّ شَمساً

فَقالوا مَن رَأَيتَ أَحَبَّ شَمساً

فَقُلتُ عَلَيَّ قَد نَزَلَ القَضاءُ

فَقُلتُ عَلَيَّ قَد نَزَلَ القَضاءُ

Then they said, "Whom have you seen love a sun?"

They asked, whom have you seen love the sun so?

Then I said, "Fate has descended upon me."

I said, fate has ordained the same for me.

إِذا عَقَدَ القَضاءُ عَلَيَّ أَمراً

إِذا عَقَدَ القَضاءُ عَلَيَّ أَمراً

فَلَيسَ يَحُلُّهُ إِلّا القَضاءُ

فَلَيسَ يَحُلُّهُ إِلّا القَضاءُ

When fate binds me to a matter,

When fate decides a thing for me,

then none but fate can undo it.

None but fate can change the decree.
