May God water those days of ours that will not return.
God watered days for us that will not return
And may the time of al-ʿĀmiriyya be watered—what a time!
And gave drink to the prosperous Fatimid era

Nights when I gave idleness my reins:
Nights when I gave idleness my reins
The nights and months pass, and we are unaware.
Nights and months pass and we do not know
