كَأَنَّ بِجيدَها وَالنَحرُ مِنها

كَأَنَّ بِجيدَها وَالنَحرُ مِنها

إِذا ما أَمكَنَت لِلناظِرينا

إِذا ما أَمكَنَت لِلناظِرينا

It is as though upon her neck and bosom,

As if upon her neck and chest

when she lets the onlookers see her,

When she turns to face the onlookers

بِخَطٍّ كانَ مِن قَلَمٍ دَقيقٍ

بِخَطٍّ كانَ مِن قَلَمٍ دَقيقٍ

يَخُطُّ بِجيدِها في النَحرِ نونا

يَخُطُّ بِجيدِها في النَحرِ نونا

with a stroke from a fine-pointed pen,

With a line as though from a delicate pen

a nūn were traced on her neck, upon her bosom.
