أَلا اِصطِبارَ لِلَيلى أَم لَها جَلَدٌ

إِذاً أُلاقي الَّذي لاقاهُ أَمثالي

إِذاً أُلاقي الَّذي لاقاهُ أَمثالي

Is there no patience for Layla, or fortitude for her?

Shall I wait patiently for Layla or does she have endurance?

Then I shall face what others like me have faced.

If so, I will encounter what my equals have encountered.
