I say to Qamqam son of Zayd: Do you not see

the lightning’s radiance appearing to gazing eyes?

If you weep for the lightning that stirred love,

I will help you; and if you endure, you are no patient man.

May God water a tribe between Darah and the preserve,

the preserve of al-Rashf, with the downpour of dark, rain-bearing clouds.

Amen! And may God bring back whoever belongs to them

to them, and protect them from the vicissitudes of fate.
