بَشامَ الحِمى أُخرى اللَيالي الغَوائِرِ
Console yourself with patience—no, by your fortune, you will not see
With patience I'm endowed but in vain, I see you not
The balsam trees of the protected pasture for the rest of the passing nights.
Other nights pass while yearning still remains
كَأَنَّas though فُؤاديmy heart مِنfrom تَذَكُّرِهِits remembering الحِمىthe protected pasture
كَأَنَّ فُؤادي مِن تَذَكُّرِهِ الحِمى
وَأَهلِand the people of الحِمىthe protected pasture يَهفوflutters بِهِwith it ريشُfeathers طائِرِof a bird
وَأَهلِ الحِمى يَهفو بِهِ ريشُ طائِرِ
It is as though my heart, from remembering the protected pasture
As if my heart from missing you is set aflame
And the people of the protected pasture, were wafted by a bird’s feathers.
And longing for you makes it flutter and take flight
