The crow has indeed proclaimed parting from Lubna,

and my heart took flight for fear of the crow.

It said, “Tomorrow Lubna’s home will grow distant,

and be far away after affection and closeness.”

So I said, “May you come to grief—woe to you, crow!

And may your striving be forever in ruin!

You are indeed obsessed—may you never meet with good—

with separating the lover from those he loves.”
