لَم تُنسِني أُمَّ عَمّارٍ نَوىً قَذَفٌ

لَم تُنسِني أُمَّ عَمّارٍ نَوىً قَذَفٌ

وَلا عَجاريفُ دَهرٍ لا تُعَرّيني

وَلا عَجاريفُ دَهرٍ لا تُعَرّيني

No far-flung separation has made me forget Umm ʿAmmār,

Distant separation has not made me forget Umm Ammar,

nor the harsh ravages of an age that does not strip me bare.

nor the harsh vicissitudes of time that never spare me.
