لا تحسبنّ بأنّ الموتَ مُنشغلُ

لا تحسبنّ بأنّ الموتَ مُنشغلُ

بالنّاسِ عنك فتنساهُ وتنشغلُ

بالنّاسِ عنك فتنساهُ وتنشغلُ

Never think that death is too busy

with others to attend to you, and so forget it and busy yourself.

فكم من النّاسِ عنه قبلكَ انْشغلوا

فكم من النّاسِ عنه قبلكَ انْشغلوا

فاسْتلَّهُمْ غُفّلًا والناسُ قد شُغلوا

فاسْتلَّهُمْ غُفّلًا والناسُ قد شُغلوا

For many people before you were too preoccupied to heed it;

so it snatched them away unawares, while people were already busy.

فأصبحوا لم يعُدْ فيها لهم شغُلُ

فأصبحوا لم يعُدْ فيها لهم شغُلُ

والنّاسُ كلٌّ بما لديهِ يشتغلُ

والنّاسُ كلٌّ بما لديهِ يشتغلُ

Then they had no further business in this world,

and everyone is busy with what they have.
