The passing spring breeze stirred up love's passion,
O warbler who cried above the hillside boughs.
Calling out to one sleeping atop the tree's branches.

Ignite passion, care, fervor - renew your fervor!

I perish in grief because of you, or in sorrow because of it.
Bring me sorrow for you or sorrow from you.

While fate's clouds poured down no more than their fill.

I find their specter has stolen into my heart.

Were it not that praise of you clothes her in beauty's ornaments,
Without your praise adorning her with beauty's necklace,
her meanings' grace would not be so delicate or charming.
The charm of her meaning would not have delighted nor her wit.

She came to congratulate you on the happy feast, just as
She came to give you tidings on the blessed feast
she rose to congratulate glory on you, by whom it was ennobled.
Even as glory, through you, came to congratulate.

Joy be yours! Indeed, the month of fasting, when it passed,
For you, congratulations! The fast's month when gone
offered congratulations to your high station and departed.
Sent its greetings to your lofty abode and took leave.

أَن لا يجوب مَفاز الأَرض معتسفا
Had it not gone bearing witness to your excellence, it would refuse
Had no beholder of your merit among men refused
not to cross the earth's deserts, wandering without a guide.
To roam the earth's expanse covered in dust.

And sip cups of joy whose spring runs clear;
And sip from cups of joy - pure is its draught!
ah, what a sweet spring and draught it is!
What a pure, sweet draught to imbibe!

Remain in honor, and grow in dignity and eminence;
Endure in honor and increase in rank and heights -
and God is enough for you in what you have attained—He suffices.
May God suffice you for what you attained; enough!
