Work in your worldly life, and beware of its consequences.
Do as you will in this world but beware the consequences,
For not a day are you safe from its calamities.
For you'll never feel safe from its afflictions a single day.
وَعاشرand keep company with الناسpeople وَاِنظُرand observe مِنsome of عَجائبهاits marvels
ماnot الناسpeople إِلّاexcept مَعwith الدُنياthe world وَصاحبهاand its possessor
And keep company with people, and observe some of the world's marvels.
Mix with people and behold the wonders they offer,
People side only with the world and its possessor.
People are only with this world and its ways.
فَكُلَّماso whenever انقلَبَتit turned يَوماًone day بِهِagainst him اِنقَلَبواthey turned

So whenever it turns against him one day, they too turn.
Whenever it changes course they change with it,
Their deceit is proven to those endowed with reason.
Their deceit is evident to the wise.
وَكُلُّand every نَفسsoul سَتُجزىwill be recompensed بِالَّذيfor what اِكتَسَبتit earned

And every soul will be recompensed for what it has earned.
Each soul will be recompensed for what it has earned,
So marvel at the evils of their conduct that have been forgotten.
How strange are the worst morals they've forgotten!

They exalt the world's companion; but if it pounces
They revere the world's brother but if one day
Upon him one day with what he does not desire, they pounce too.
It rebels against his desires, they'll rebel.
