لِمَwhy لاnot تَأتيyou come إِلَيناto us
The beloved said to me one day,
The beloved once said to me,
“Why do you not come to us?
Why do you not come to us,
أَيُّهاO العاشقthe lover إنّيindeed I
لَأَرىI surely see ودَّكَyour affection ميناa lie
O lover, indeed I
O lover, I do
see your affection as a lie.
Wish to see your affection.
أَنتَyou أَبهىloveliest الناسpeople عِنديin my eyes
أَثَراًin the impression you leave يَحلوis pleasing وَعَيناand in person
You are the loveliest of people in my eyes,
You are the most magnificent of people to me,
both in the pleasing impression you leave and in person.”
A sweet vestige and eyes.
