لَئن أَبطا بِخطّي سوء حَظّي

لَئن أَبطا بِخطّي سوء حَظّي

فَلي أَمل بِعَفوك عَن قُصوري

فَلي أَمل بِعَفوك عَن قُصوري

If my ill fortune has slowed my writing,

If my handwriting displeased you,

Then I hope for your pardon for my shortcomings.

Then I still hope for your pardon of my shortcomings,

وَأعلم أن ودّ سِواك أَمر

وَأعلم أن ودّ سِواك أَمر

تبيّن لي لَدى التَحقيق صوري

تبيّن لي لَدى التَحقيق صوري

And I know that anyone else's affection is something

And I know your affection is assured,

That, upon scrutiny, has proved to me a mere semblance.

When examined carefully, its image appears to me.

أَدام اللَه عزّك في بُروجٍ

أَدام اللَه عزّك في بُروجٍ

مَطالع سَعدها غرف القُصورِ

مَطالع سَعدها غرف القُصورِ

May God perpetuate your glory in towers

May God make your glory last in mansions,

Whose good fortune dawns in the chambers of palaces.

With auspicious stars rising above the palaces.
