سؤال سِوى مَليك الأَمر شرك

فَلَيسَ لِغَير رَبّ العَرش ملكُ

فَلَيسَ لِغَير رَبّ العَرش ملكُ

Asking anyone but the Sovereign of affairs is associating partners with God;

Asking other than the King of kings is partnering

for none but the Lord of the Throne has dominion.

For none but the Lord of the Throne has kingship

وَما لي وَالوَرى لِلّه ملكُ

وَما لي وَالوَرى لِلّه ملكُ

أَبثّ لَدَيكُم حزني وَأَشكو

أَبثّ لَدَيكُم حزني وَأَشكو

And why should I—when all creation belongs to God—

I have no kingdom, and all kingdom is for Allah

pour out my sorrow before you and complain

I reveal my sorrow to you and complain

إِلَيكُم يا رِجال الغَيب عسري

إِلَيكُم يا رِجال الغَيب عسري

نعم أنتم وَسيلة من توسّل

نعم أنتم وَسيلة من توسّل

to you, O men of the unseen, of my hardship?

To you, O men of the unseen, of my hardship

Yes, you are the means for whoever seeks intercession

Yes, you are a means of beseeching

بِكُم يا خَير أُمّة خَير مُرسل

بِكُم يا خَير أُمّة خَير مُرسل

ألوذُ بِكُم وَلي بِاللَه مَأمل

ألوذُ بِكُم وَلي بِاللَه مَأمل

through you, O best community of the best Messenger.

Through you, O best nation of the best Messenger

I seek refuge with you, while my hope rests in God.

I seek refuge in you, and my hope is in Allah

ومِنكُم أرتَجي الإِسعاف ثمّ ال

ومِنكُم أرتَجي الإِسعاف ثمّ ال

مَعونَةَ وَالنَوال وَجبر كسري

مَعونَةَ وَالنَوال وَجبر كسري

And from you I hope for aid, then the

And from you I hope for aid, then not

assistance, bounty, and mending of my brokenness.
