Sol 6.1

  1. خَطَبتكَ بَعلاً لِلزَواج إِمارة

    أَمسى علاها عَن سِواك مَصونا

    An emirate sought you as a husband in marriage;

    its eminence has become protected from all but you.

  2. وَبك المَعالي قَد تَحلّى جيدها

    إِذ كُنت عقداً لِلعَلاء ثَمينا

    And with you, the neck of high honors has been adorned,

    for you were a precious necklace for eminence.

  3. وافت عَلى طَوع لِذَلِكَ لَم تَكُن

    تَأبى عُلاك وَلا تعدّك دونا

    It came willingly; thus it did not

    reject your eminence or deem you lowly.

  4. لَو أَنَّها خَطبت سِواك لَأَصبَحَت

    في مَهرِها عِندَ الوَليّ رَهينا

    Had it sought another in marriage, it would have become

    held in pledge with the guardian for its dowry.

  5. وَحباكَ مَولاها مَراتب عزّة

    كَيما يقرّ بك الزَمان عُيونا

    And its lord bestowed upon you ranks of honor,

    so that time might, through you, bring delight to eyes.

  6. وَاِختارَكَ المَولى أَميراً لِلمَلا

    فَعَلى المَعالي كُنتَ أَنتَ أَمينا

    And the lord chose you as a prince for the people;

    thus you yourself were a trusted guardian of high honors.

  7. وَليهنك العيد السَعيد وَبَعدَهُ

    بِعُلوّ مَجدك عوده يهنينا

    And may the happy festival gladden you, and thereafter

    may its return, with your glory exalted, gladden us.

  8. وَاِسلم وَدُم لِيُرى لِعزّك في الوَرى

    نَصرٌ عَزيزٌ لا يَزال مُبينا

    And stay safe and live on, that mankind may witness, to your glory,

    a mighty victory, ever manifest,

  9. ما دبّجت أَيدي الرَبيع وَأَظهَرَت

    لِلرَوض مِن فنَن الغُصون فُنونا

    as long as the hands of spring embroider and reveal

    for the garden, from branching boughs, varied beauties,

  10. أَو ما بَدَت زهر النُجوم فَأَشبَهَت

    زهراً عَلى الأَشجار بات كَمينا

    or as long as the bright stars appear and resemble

    flowers that lie hidden on the trees through the night.
