شمس ذات الحبيب ليست تغيبُ

شمس ذات الحبيب ليست تغيبُ

فاشهدوا نورها وطيبوا وغيبوا

فاشهدوا نورها وطيبوا وغيبوا

The sun of the Beloved's essence does not set.

The sun of the beloved never sets

So witness its light, rejoice, and lose yourselves.

So witness its light, perfume yourselves, and disappear

ثمّ هيموا بحضرة الذكر عمّا

ثمّ هيموا بحضرة الذكر عمّا

قاله ذو الملام وهو مريب

قاله ذو الملام وهو مريب

Then be enraptured in the gathering of remembrance, heedless of what

Then hasten with zeal towards the remembrance of what

the faultfinder has said—and he is suspect.

The blamer said while deceitful

فهو شيطانكم إذا ما رآكم

فهو شيطانكم إذا ما رآكم

قد حضرتم ذكر الكريم يذوب

قد حضرتم ذكر الكريم يذوب

For he is your devil: when he sees that you

have joined in remembrance of the Generous One, he melts away.

Present for the remembrance of the Benevolent melting away

فاستعيذوا من شرّه واطردوه

فاستعيذوا من شرّه واطردوه

بسهام الأذكار فيه تصيب

بسهام الأذكار فيه تصيب

So seek refuge from his evil and drive him away

So seek refuge from his evil and repel him

with arrows of invocation that strike him.

With the arrows of remembrance piercing him
