سيري سفينةَ إنشادي عسى كرماً

تهبّ ريح وصالي عند مسراكِ

Sail, ship of my song; perhaps, by grace,

Sail my poetry ship, may Favor

the wind of my union will blow as you sail.

Blow my reunion wind at your harbor

ثمّ انشري قِلْعَ أشواقي ميمّمَةً

ثمّ انشري قِلْعَ أشواقي ميمّمَةً

منازلَ القرب من حيٍّ لسلماك

منازلَ القرب من حيٍّ لسلماك

Then unfurl the sail of my longings, heading toward

Then spread my wishful sails fluttering

the dwellings close to your Salma's encampment.

From the abodes of nearness of living towards your peace

مشحونةً ولها وجدٌ وفرطُ جوىً

مشحونةً ولها وجدٌ وفرطُ جوىً

وسهدُ جفنٍ قريحٍ طرفُه باكي

وسهدُ جفنٍ قريحٍ طرفُه باكي

Laden, and possessed of passion and overwhelming love's anguish,

Laden, ardent with fervent love

and the sleeplessness of a wounded eyelid whose gaze weeps.

And wakeful eyelids with shedding tears

ويمّمي للتداني بالمسير فيا

ويمّمي للتداني بالمسير فيا

سفينة الشوق بسم الله مجراك

سفينة الشوق بسم الله مجراك

And steer toward closeness as you sail; so, O

And direct me to draw near in the journey, so

ship of longing, in God's name be your voyage.
